Our incredible highlights of Colombia birding tour covers all three Andean ranges and both inter-Andean valleys, as well as lowland rainforest in search of numerous endemics and regional avian specialties. We stay at some beautiful lodges in memorable locations and will be searching for a remarkable collection of mind-blowing birds. Our tour total is likely to exceed 500 species, including scores of colorful tanagers, spectacular toucans, impressive manakins, striking contingas, numerous furtive antpittas, and over 50 species of dazzling hummingbirds!

The habitat is stunning and scenic with magnificent mountain ranges and vast swathes of cloud forest which are home to exotic species such as the unbelievable Resplendent Quetzal, Snowy and Turquoise Cotingas, Orange-collared Manakin, Fiery-billed Aracari, Black-faced Antthrush and Fiery-throated Hummingbird. We will also spend some time in the dry lowlands and can look forward to many striking species of trogons, toucans, motmots and hummingbirds, among many other spectacular birds.

This is a classic birding tour in every respect with great lodges, feeders and mind-blowing birding opportunities. Based in the Tandayapa and Mindo valleys we will set out to bird the various renowned private reserves, affording us an outstanding opportunity to support local conservation projects for long-term habitat protection. Iconic species that we will be searching for include Andean Cock-of-the-rock, Giant Antpitta, Plate-billed Mountain Toucan, Toucan Barbet and Long-wattled Umbrellabird while we will also keep our ears to the ground should rarities such as Banded Ground Cuckoo or Rufous-crowned Antpitta show up in the area..
