Important Information from our Rosemont Public Safety Department
Just recently the Rosemont Public Safety Department successfully switched over our dispatch center to a consolidated dispatch with NORCOMM. This will not affect call response or quality of service received by the public. However, there are a couple things to note.
All 9-1-1 calls are being handled by NORCOMM.
This means that if you are looking for emergency services, you should call 9-1-1.
These calls will automatically be routed to NORCOMM dispatch.
Our department will still maintain a desk officer who will work out of the old dispatch center at 9501 W. Devon Ave. This desk officer will be able to assist any citizen who walks up for a desk report as well as handle local matters such as Parking Permission. They can be reached at 847-823-1134 x301.
With September upon us, we are quickly approaching September 11th. As such, our department has traditionally held a 9/11 ceremony in remembrance of those lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. At this point, due to COVID-19 health concerns we do not plan to host a public event. However, we will still be remembering those lost with a private ceremony at our fire house. Please follow us on social media for any updates or changes to this.
Labor Day is this weekend. With friends and families planning to get together, we remind everyone to be safe by socially distancing and wearing proper PPE when needed. Additionally, we urge drivers to be responsible and never drink and drive. Extra DUI enforcement will be out across the whole state during this weekend to ensure motorists are driving responsibly. If you are going to drink, choose a sober designated driver.
