When Jim and Rene''s beloved German Shepherd mix Jerry was diagnosed with bone cancer at age eight, they made the difficult decision to have his leg ampuated. The surgery gave Jerry a couple more happy years with his humans – traveling the country in an RV to camp, hike, and swim.
It also changed Jim and Rene''s path as they discovered a new purpose – building a community for others facing cancer and amputation.
