Because our developers have finished the development of two new features that bring the process of booking to a whole new level - especially in terms of convenience and efficiency.

Without further ado, here they are...

Booking preparation and finalization time + "Avoid gaps" function

Since both functions are crucial in simplifying the booking process, please remove all distractions around you now...

And focus 1000% on the following paragraphs, where I''ll explain both features in depth and share tips on how you can get the most out of them.

BOOKING PREPARATION AND FINALIZATION TIME
Possibility to add a buffer time both before and after to each service / appointment, which automatically blocks additional time in the calendar. This feature gives you an extra time before or after the booking that you can use, for example, to clean tools and surfaces or to prepare for the arrival of the next customer.

If you want certain services to automatically have a preparation and finalization time no matter whether an appointment is booked online or you book it yourself to the calendar, you can add the necessary buffer times from the Apps -> Services page under each service separately ("Show more"):

However, if no buffer time has been added beforehand or you want to add / remove a preparation or finalization time of an appointment directly from the calendar, click on the white dot on the booking, where you will find the "Preparation" and "Finalization" buttons:

"AVOID GAPS" FUNCTION
This feature is a completely revolutionary solution that helps to ensure that online bookings don't leave empty slots in your calendar, meaning all times are booked in successively.

In short, it works like this: the system allows customers to book times online only right before or after a booking which is already in the calendar.

EXAMPLE: if there is only one booking in your calendar from 14:00 to 15:00, then after activating the "Avoid gaps" function, customers will only be shown available times (depending on the length of the selected service, but let''s assume it is a 60 min service) 13:00 and 15:00.

So if the next customer selects the time 15:00, then after them the next customer will be shown the available times 13:00 and 16:00, etc. This means no other available times are shown at all - the goal is to let customers book times in a row so that you won''t have any empty slots in your calendar.

Important! You need to be careful for this feature to work best. This means that if you manually add the booking into the calendar, try to place it right after the existing booking. Otherwise, if the system books times one after the other, but you accidentally place the booking in the middle of the day, the system''s efforts will be useless

You can activate the "Avoid gaps" function from Apps -> Staff -> Info -> Preferences -> Online booking -> Time display. Also, all the settings related to the schedule displayed on the online booking page (e.g., Calendar starts with, Time gap, etc.) have also been moved to the same page so that all similar settings can be conveniently set in one place.

P.S. All online booking settings are personal to each staff member, so, for example, if you activate the "Avoid gaps" feature in your account, your colleagues'' schedules will not be affected.

Sales & Checkout + Gift Cards

Let's dive further into both of them...

SALES & CHECKOUT
It is a thorough overview and management of your salon's cash flow, which gives you the opportunity to A) confirm under each booking how the customer paid for the service, and B) also make separate summaries for each day, i.e. the so-called POS system.

There are 3 different payment methods to choose from: cash, card, or gift card. In addition, it's possible to add the tip that customer gave you or to mark booking as "Not paid", if the customer didn't have the means to pay for the service immediately.

But as it is with new things, one picture speaks more than a thousand words, so...

For example, this view opens in the overview of each booking when you click on the booking. For each booking, you can choose how the customer paid for the service(s):

And this view opens on the Sales page, where you can find a detailed overview and excerpt for each day:

GIFT CARDS
Gift cards are a great way to increase your sales, especially during holidays and anniversaries (Christmas, Valentine''s Day, Birthday, etc.). Even if you don''t have any physical gift cards yet, don''t worry - we brought all the necessary tools to SalonLife so that you can create your very own gift card in just a few clicks!

Choose the gift card design you like from 8 different options, generate a code, mark the validity period, and print out the gift card or send it directly to the customer via e-mail!

However, if your salon already has its gift cards, you can also add existing cards easily to SalonLife''s gift card database so you can later on add them to your bookings when a customer uses them.

So... these awesome features have been added to SalonLife!

Not bad huh?

Both features are now available under the "Expert" plan, so if you have the most powerful plan activated in SalonLife, you can use these features to make your sales numbers even more powerful.

However, if you are currently on another plan, I believe that Sales & Checkout and Gift Cards are tools that you should definitely consider using - maybe it''s time to upgrade the package?
