Update on SARCAN Drop & Go

Since SARCAN reopened to the public on June 15th, we''ve seen a huge increase in customers using Drop & Go to skip the line.

As a registered user of Drop & Go, we''d like to provide you with an important update on SARCAN Drop & Go:

15 Piece Suggested Limit:

Due to the limitations of our physical space and the sheer volume of customers using Drop & Go at this time, we are asking customers to limit the number of pieces you are dropping off (bags and boxes) to 15 pieces per day.

This voluntary limit will help us process your payment quicker, provide equal service to a wider number of customers, and limit the amount of stress placed on our recycling teams and buildings.

Thank you for observing this limit.

Glass Containers:

Glass beverage containers must be returned in cardboard boxes, and not in plastic bags. This includes beer, wine and juice bottles.

Glass bottles returned in plastic bags are very likely to get broken. Containers that break in the Drop & Go system are not eligible for a refund.

Dealing with broken glass is also a significant safety hazard for our team of recyclers.

What is Accepted at SARCAN

Printing Extra Tags:

Make sure you only print tags for the bags and boxes that you are dropping off at that specific location on that specific day.

If you print extra tags at a Drop & Go station (to take home for later, to share with friends), they will not be valid beyond the date of printing or be valid at any other SARCAN location in the province. Using out-of-date tags may result in you forfeiting the refunds for any containers returned with those tags.

Please only print tags for the materials you are dropping off at that specific time.

Making Your First Visit?

If you have yet to make your first visit to Drop & Go, we are here to help!

Just visit your local SARCAN depot and speak with our Recycling Guide in the high visibility vest. They will point you towards the depot''s Drop & Go station, and can also walk you through your first drop off.

After being closed for almost three months, we are experiencing longer lineups. As a result of physical distancing, our counting now takes slightly longer than it did previously. Due to overwhelming demand for Drop & Go, we have reached capacity for the system in a few locations and had to temporarily close Drop & Go until we deal with the backlog. We want to thank you for your patience during this time!

Outstanding Payments:

Drop & Go orders are usually paid between 3 to 5 business days after your drop off. Due to the overwhelming use of Drop & Go across the province since June 15th, your payment may take longer.

Due to increased demand, we may also need to split your order and process payment in batches to ensure we are moving product through our depots. If you have already received partial payment for your order and are awaiting additional payment for the remainder, please be patient as we clear our backlogged system this week. Please reach out to dropandgo@sarcan.sk.ca after this Friday (June 26th) if you have not yet received your split payment.

We are striving to keep up with the demand for the Drop & Go service, and we appreciate your understanding while we work to clear the backlog of containers from our three month closure.

Switch to Interac e-Transfer Payments right now!

The wait is over! Starting today, customers across Saskatchewan can now opt to receive their Drop & Go deposit refunds with Interac e-Tranfer.

Switching to e-Transfer payments will make the Drop & Go experience even quicker with faster delivery of payments. Customers who opt for e-Transfer payments will receive an email notifying them of a pending Interac e-Transfer which you can deposit directly into the bank or financial institution of your choosing!

Visit your local SARCAN depot today to switch your payment method in-depot.

Switch your Account Today!

Switch your payment method from cheque or PayPal by visiting your nearest SARCAN depot right now, or whenever you have your next Drop & Go order to drop off.

Switching your account is quick and easy. Just visit any SARCAN depot and change your payment method directly on the Drop & Go kiosk at that location:

Sign into your account (or create a new one).
Tap on the "Update Payment Method" button, and follow the prompts.
Ring the bell if you need assistance.
Keep your receipt! You will need your 9 digit customer number to get your refund!

*Your Drop & Go payment method can only be changed by visiting a SARCAN depot. You are unable to change your payment method online at this time.

Tips for Using Drop & Go e-Transfer Payments

To make sure you get your e-Transfer payment as quickly and easily as possible, please remember the following tips:

You must use online banking at your financial institution to be paid by eTransfer. If you don''t have access to online banking and would like to be paid by eTransfer, contact your financial institution first to get set up for online banking.

Always keep your receipt. You will need the customer number found on this receipt in order to redeem your e-Transfer payment.

Make sure we have your correct email address. Your notice of e-Transfer payment will be sent to the email address you signed up with, so make sure we have the correct email on file, and that you use an email address you check regularly.

Check your junk mail for your payment. Depending on your security settings, your e-Transfer payment notices may end up in your junk folder.

Deposit your payment within 30 days of receipt. Otherwise, your payment may become a stale payment.

Remembering these four tips will ensure you get your e-Transfer payment from SARCAN Drop & Go as fast as possible!
