This special Holiday Edition of our signature fundraising event is the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season for the upcoming Christmas holiday. Designed for the whole family to enjoy, our 45-minute virtual program will be hosted by a very special guest from the North Pole and includes:

In addition to tickets supporting participating New Haven businesses and the Shubert Theatre, we are also donating party boxes to a local family charity.

Tickets are now available for this "limited seating event."
Upon purchase, ticketholders will receive a link to coordinate pick-up of the boxes the morning of Sunday, December 13 at the Shubert Theatre.

Inspired by "One of our Favorite Musicals," Janie Alexander-Haverkampf, the Shubert''s Education Programs Manager, gives you a step-by-step guide on how you can create your own puppet theatre and puppets (from guess what - toilet paper rolls). Now you can create your own version of "The Lonely Goatherd" from The Sound of Music.

DID YOU KNOW? The Sound of Music made its World Premiere right here on the Shubert stage in 1959. It was the seventh of Rodgers and Hammerstein''s musicals to premiere on our legendary stage.

CELEBRATE AN ICON WHO SPENT HIS LIFE GETTING INTO GOOD TROUBLE!
This September, celebrate the life and legacy of Representative John Lewis - Freedom Rider and Congressman, Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree and the conscience of a nation. He served the cause of social justice for decades, both as an elected representative and as a groundbreaking activist whose fervent belief in getting into "good trouble, necessary trouble" for the cause of racial equality changed our nation.

The Shubert Theatre invites you to take part in an unprecedented event uniting audiences from more than 60 nonprofit cultural organizations around the country, who are joining together to learn about Lewis' legacy -

At this time, neighbors and friends are stepping up in extraordinary ways to help others. We wanted to share the following information from Yale New Haven Health System. We know how generous Shubert patrons have been to those in need, and for those looking for a way to help -
even the smallest action can make a difference.

While the Yale New Haven Health System does not normally accept donations of supplies and equipment, the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has restricted the quantities of protective equipment our caregivers use to deliver care to patients. Under these constraints associated with this COVID-19 outbreak, donations from organizations, companies, groups, and individuals to Yale New Haven Health, that meet quality and safety standards, can be donated for YNHHS hospitals to use.

Yale New Haven Health is in need of the following resources:

Disposable Head Covers/Caps
Disposable Gowns
Disposable Gloves
N95 Respirator Face Masks
Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs)
Disposable Face Masks
Face-shields/Goggles
Coveralls/Scrubs

All items should be in original unopened packaging.

Congratulations to our friend, neighbor and restaurant partner on your 45th Anniversary in New Haven!

For the past 45 years, Claire's Corner Copia has been a staple in downtown New Haven. Claire recently completed a full renovation of her famous eatery and has reopened with top-of-the-line air quality systems and advanced HVAC filters. The Shubert gets creative with its Online Summer Camp
This year''s Shubert Summer Theater & Arts Camp provided a great way for young people to enhance and share their theatrical and artistic talents with their fellow "virtual" campers. The virtual camp included three one-week camps with the final camp sessions completing this week.
In photo above, Janie Alexander, one of the camp''s teachers, begins one of the zoom sessions that included classes in character creation, visual arts, storytelling and multidisciplinary performance.

Audrey Cardwell joins Adam for this evening of song and celebration. She recently starred on the Shubert stage in the 2018 national tour of Bright Star - she was the first replacement for the role of Alice Murphy, taking over the role from Tony Nominee Carmen Cusack.

For the last three weeks, local teens have been involved in a FREE virtual camp developed through a special partnership by the Shubert Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre and Westport Country Playhouse. Informed and requested by young people in our community and led by local artists, activists, and organizations, the program includes interactive workshops and discussions.

Virtual Showcase hosted by Broadway star Kelli O''Hara

We are hard at work scheduling virtual programming for the winter months to provide entertainment the whole family can enjoy while we continue to be safe at home in early 2021. Registration is now open for our new
Virtual Winter After-School Camp

The Shubert''s Virtual Winter After-School Camp is an arts enrichment and wellness program, designed to keep students engaged while parents finish their work day.

Built on a foundation of Create/Move/Play, campers will tap into their imaginations during creative interactive activities while making new friends and building self-confidence. Tuition includes:

3 live, after-school sessions per week
Box of activity supplies (to be picked up before camp starts at the Shubert)
Shubert Winter Camp T-Shirt

Activities planned for the four weeks include character creation, storytelling, arts and crafts projects, character movement, wellness activities, kindness projects, theatre games and FUN - with the goal of being fully completed with only the help of the live, virtual camp teacher and fellow campers! With activities perfect for 2nd through 8th graders, campers will be broken down by grade to offer age-specific activities, friends and encouragement for a fun and engaging virtual camp experience!

Available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
from 3:30-5:00pm during two sessions:

Session 1: weeks of February 1 and 8, 2021
Session 2: weeks of February 15 and 22, 2021
