Between these 2 photos, 6 years.
I have been following Blossom for the past 6 years. These 2 flower portraits are 6 years apart. Blossom is my poster child: a great doggie, she''s been prejudiced against for being a pit bull, lost a home to BSL, and has had a string of failed adoptions over the years. Her story is long and eventful. You can read some of it in my book, and the latest is on my website.
Long story short, Blossom was just pulled from the shelter by friends of mine. She is now in the care of Rebound Hounds, and living in a temporary foster home in Brooklyn with my friend Julie. We still need to find a permanent home for Blossom, but at least she has her own toys, comfy bed, and a quiet home while she waits. I am excited for what the future holds for Blossom! Now, where is that home?
To support Blossom''s care, please consider a donation to Rebound Hounds.
To adopt Blossom or for more info about her, email the rescue.

LONGTIMER DARCY FINDS A HOME AFTER 7 YEARS
Darcy waited 7 years at an Alabama shelter, until she recently traveled to New Jersey. With the pandemic, Nicole and Phil were now working from home, and they decided to foster a dog in need. Darcy became their foster kid, and pretty soon, the family made it official!

THE GAP BETWEEN THESE PHOTOS GOT GREY THE HOME OF HIS DREAMS, AFTER ALMOST 7 YEARS!
I photographed Grey 4 years ago... And when I saw his updated profile picture (right) on the shelter''s website, I knew he needed to get out. Thankfully, many of you saw the same thing, and his post went viral... ultimately getting Grey the home (and backyard) of his dreams!!

Flower Power is featured in an article about "Demonized breeds" in the latest National Geographic bookazine! Years ago, I could have never predicted how important my work would become. We still have so much work to do, in terms of advocacy, to make people understand that ALL DOGS ARE INDIVIDUALS. That it doesn't matter how they look like, or what breed they were born. This article is a step in the right direction, and I am grateful my work can be used as a vessel for such important message.

FLOWER POWER IN ENCHANTED LIVING
Flower Power was also featured in the latest Enchanted Living, a beautiful magazine that celebrates all things enchanted (art, home decor, recipe, travel pieces...). I was so happy my pit bulls were featured in this special "Magical Beasts" issue!
I cannot wait to go back on the road and meet more shelter doggies! In the meantime, I will continue helping them from behind my computer. Stay tuned for an upcoming fundraiser to help 300 dogs in need.
Much love,
Sophie
