A Message from Steve
Hi. As we get our heads around the extent of the crises that unfolds around us, certain things become apparent. Our concerns for our loved ones, or friends, relatives and employees. The practical ways of self-isolating and social distancing for the foreseeable short term future, and the sheer economic impact that this will have on millions of individuals, families and businesses across the world.
Back in the mid 80's, when I told my octogenarian Grandfather who had lived through WW2 and several crises that I was going to a degree in Brewing, he smiled saying with relief - "Ah that's great. People will always need beer in a time of crisis"
The fact of the matter, is that while imminent priorities surround us and our behaviours, at some point in the future, this is all going to be over, and gradually we will get our lives back together.
Having started Stewart Brewing in 2004, the one thing that has always driven our success and growth has been the people behind it. Our team.
Our plans are, to trade through this period of crisis, in order to protect the jobs and livelihoods of as many of our staff as possible and to safeguard the future of the brewery to where at some point we will be able to pick back up from where we left.
Once the panic buying slows down, which it will, (for the food supply chain is well able to deal with this), I'm hopeful that you will still be able to buy our beers in the national Morrisons, Waitrose, Sainsburys, LIDL and ALDI stores, as well as a host of smaller independent retailers.
But most of all, we will still be able to welcome you to the brewery. We may have to stand 2m away, but our brewery tap will still be selling 18 tap variety of amazing craft beers for growler fill takeaway, complimented by a vast selection of beers in can and bottle.
So as we get used to the new way of living, please consider if possible, all your local suppliers and producers. They are determined to keep your custom, for you are the lifeblood of their businesses.
And for us - we have to do something with all this beer in our tanks that's no longer going to pubs!
Kind Regards
Steve & Jo Stewart & the team at Stewart Brewing.
