What’s been happening?

We are working on plans to meet again in 2021. And like many of you, we have been spending some time on social media. If you aren’t following us there, here''s a look at some of what we have been sharing.

Music Mondays

Mondays give us a chance to highlight bands who were scheduled to perform next week. Take a listen and explore these acts. We know you will enjoy them including Citizen Badger and American Sigh who have performed on this virtual stage. Music is mood ~ keep the music playing!

Learn more about these bands and our partners 1909 who help support the local music scene.

Giving Tuesdays

Tuesdays give us a chance to highlight some of our close partners and friends of the festival who are helping others. We know some of you are in a position to give, and others are maybe for the first time in need. We have collected some of these groups on our web page and shared them below.

Wells Fargo and SunFest repurposed the bank’s support of the festival to provide a $10,000 cash donation to the Food Bank of Palm Beach County. Read more on our Blog.

Our partners at Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches started an Artist Fund collecting donations to provide grants. Many Palm Beach County creative professionals make their income through gigs and freelance work. COVID-19 has greatly impacted their work. Cultural Council is supporting local creative professionals when they need it most.

Long-time friend of the festival Rodney Mayo, owner of Subculture Restaurant Group, created Hospitality Helping Hands to ensure workers in the hospitality industry who were laid off and their families got at least one good meal every day.

Another SunFest Supporter Christyle Egitto, a blogger and influencer on Instagram’s Eat Palm Beach, has started a savepalmbeachfood effort that is keeping money flowing to local restaurants and food businesses while feeding frontline workers in the area as well as families in need.

Friday Finds

Fridays we find ourselves with a chance to explore the artists who were scheduled to be in this year’s Art District sponsored by Florida Lottery. In this stay at home time, we can find art to add to our lives, or just new creatives to follow including Craig McInnis, Renata Rodrigues, Anthony Burks, Trina Slade-Burks and Scott Jeffries.

Read more about these artists and our partner in the Art District No More Starving Artists who supports the local arts community in Palm Beach County.
