The Sunshine 811 Excavation Task Force was started 13 years ago by Wayne Jensen, Director of Safety for Stahl & Associates Insurance. Its mission is "to create a culture where a safe work environment is maintained in all excavations." 

The group brings together contractors, utilities, OSHA, municipalities, utility locators, safety professionals, and insurance representatives to discuss safe excavation with the goal of:

  • Clarifying individual and corporate responsibilities
  • Reviewing safety requirements 
  • Assuring consistent application of safety criteria and applicable standards on all projects
