There''s now more evidence to suggest that people are willing to have their minds changed by content they view on social media channels. A survey by the Pew Research Center found that 14% of US adults changed their minds about a political or social issue after viewing social content on the topic.
Age is a big factor in how willing somebody is to be persuaded, with people under 30, especially men, more responsive. This might not seem like a huge number, but 14% is far from insignificant, and remember that this survey focused on political and social issues, which are among people''s most strongly held opinions. For less weighty ideas, such as purchasing behavior, people are probably even more likely to be swayed by social media content.
