First off, I hope this finds you well. I''m sorry to burden your inbox with one more email about the coronavirus, but I''ve found it difficult to talk about much else these days.

Last night I caught up with a few buddies I hadn''t seen in a while via Zoom. We had wanted to get together for a beer, but we had to change it to a BYOB event.

As we always did, we spent the first few minutes ripping on each other. (That''s how we know we still love each other.) But then we started talking about how this was impacting our lives and our businesses. One of my buddies is a pilot for a private jet service. Another one runs a summer clam shack in a tourist town. Another putters. (Good work if you can get it.)

I''m sure you''re in a similar boat. (Not with the putterer. He''s in his own boat.) Every conversation turns to the latest news, rumors, and emergency laws being enacted.

As a business owner or marketer, you''re also thinking about how all this impacts your business. That''s not selfish, that''s life. If you own a business, you have responsibilities to your employees, your customers, your family, your employees'' families, your community...the list goes on.

So, should you be marketing and advertising now? And if so, how?

This is a question I''ve been getting a lot lately.

While there''s no one-size-fits-all in a situation as fluid as this, I''ll share some of my own thoughts and actions that I''ve taken with flyte, with Agents of Change, and with Fast Forward Maine (another brand I run that we had planned our first in-person conference for on 4/7.)
