Delivering commercial value for key clients
We continue to focus on driving market share in five target crops - berries, grapes, apples, citrus and edible nuts. With new customers onboard, by hectarage we now have 25% market share in the berries category and 17% in the grapes category.
We are currently achieving a new milestone of 90% - 95% accuracy for predicted harvest rates across key customer industries.
Sensing+ can now use microclimate sensing data or gridded weather data. A major milestone in our product strategy, this allows us to offer Sensing+ with gridded weather at a lower price point with the option of installing microclimate sensing hardware for greater accuracy.
The enterprise capability of Sensing+, with its rules and notifications platform, helps codify weather-related practice. Our customers have a unified view across all growing assets right down to the block level, enabling them to respond to weather and growing conditions to improve on-farm effectiveness including planning irrigation, spray, thinning and harvest scheduling.
Using AI, we combine Sensing+ data with our customers' data to provide significant commercial value on farm and throughout the supply chain.
The Yield is rapidly becoming the digital transformation partner of choice for large corporate growers in intensive irrigated agriculture.
We look forward to working with our customers in 2021 to build further on these key milestones.

Future success of the global agriculture industry
"I have always searched for game-changing technology and I am convinced that The Yield will make a major contribution to the future success of the global agriculture industry.
The agricultural industry has entered an exciting technology phase where we have an opportunity - through more effective real time measurement of key variables combined with predictive analysis - to reach new levels of crop performance, especially in terms of quality and yield."

Key yield prediction accuracy milestone for Costa Group
Systems integration between our platform and Costa Group''s Harvest Management System (HMS) went live this year, resulting in a significant improvement in yield prediction accuracy.
We also successfully completed our largest Sensing+ microclimate sensing system (MCSS) installation in Costa''s berry polytunnels across three states. This hardware will help further increase yield prediction accuracy.

Enabling better commercial outcomes for NZ's second largest apple grower
We''re working with New Zealand's second largest apple grower to increase on-farm effectiveness using Sensing+.
The project aims to validate that using specific microclimate data and predictions will enable better thinning and spraying practices, which will have a positive impact in improving yield and reducing incidence of pest/disease.
The project will cover the 20/21 season as well as crop thinning in the 21/22 season.

Harvest predictions for 17% of Australia''s wine industry
With the addition of another large Australian wine producer to our customer portfolio, The Yield now has 17% market share in the wine grapes category by hectare.
Initially a two-year trial followed by a three-year contract, we will apply our wine grape yield and timing prediction capability to the producer''s ANZ operations.
This project will enable us to predict harvest volumes, across both owned and contract operations, based on the available data sets.

The Yield''s AI used to predict fruit size and count
A two-year project, we will use data science, historical and current season grower data, combined with gridded weather data to develop a modelling framework that predicts kiwi fruit yield counts and fruit sizing.
Providing monthly yield predictions, project completion is due in June 2022, and will be conducted by UTS researchers as part of the Food Agility Cooperative Research Centre.

Scaling to our customer''s needs with gridded weather
Our Sensing+ solution using gridded weather data was successfully delivered this year. This is an important milestone as it allows us to tailor our solution to a customer's needs and budget.
We can now offer our solution quickly, and at a lower price point, with the option of installing microclimate sensing hardware for greater accuracy. With no requirement for hardware, this option can be sold remotely as a SaaS solution.
Gridded weather provides both predictive and actual weather conditions data at regular grid points. This data is input into Sensing+ to enable utilisation of our enterprise solution including our notifications platform and actionable insights.

The Yield granted patents for the US and Singapore
This year The Yield was granted patents in the United States and Singapore for predicting weather at a point using AI.
This is commercially significant for the business as this is the first step in our strategy to grow our business in international markets.
Singapore is also a regional hub for agtech investment and is home to several important customers.
