10. Preacher (2016-2019)

Based on the comic book series of the same name, this crazy and grotesque dark fantasy series follows the adventures of a conflicted preacher who wants to find God. The nature of the topic may be solemn, but the way the story unfolds is bonkers and fun, taking an unexpected turn when the preacher (Dominic Cooper) joins forces with his hell-raising girlfriend (Ruth Negga) and a wisecracking vampire from Ireland (Joseph Gilgun).

9. The Last Man on Earth (2015-2018)

Phil Miller (Will Forte) wakes up to find he is the sole survivor of a virus pandemic. (Fun fact: The first victim was no other than Tom Hanks.) This post-apocalyptic sitcom takes an edgy, comedic approach to a dark subject and is so hilarious that it''s almost hard not to watch it in one sitting.

But it''s not without a reason that Breaking Bad - one of the most highly-praised shows in the history of television - landed on the top spot of our list of must-binge TV series during lockdown. Created by Vince Gilligan, this crime-drama-thriller about a chemistry teacher gone bad - shocks and dazzles, slays and stuns, digging its clutches deep into every viewer. The show''s prequel/spin-off is just as dark and multilayered, and yet, Better Call Saul doesn''t lean too much on its predecessor. With only a few characters from the original show, this series about a con-man-turned-lawyer is fresh and breathtaking, and certainly lives up to the legacy of its famous big brother.
