Dayton Live's Teen Usher & Ambassador program introduces high school teens,
grades 9-12, in the community to the positive aspects of volunteering by
providing them with hands-on experiences in the performing arts. Please note, this is an unpaid, volunteer opportunity. What is a Teen Usher? Teen Ushers accepted to the program will have the opportunity to usher at our
Premier Health Broadway in Dayton performances and may have additional volunteer
opportunities throughout the season. What is a Teen Ambassador? Teen
Ambassadors are considered mentors of the Teen Usher program and will be viewed
as a leader among their peers. Teen Ambassadors are required to serve as a Teen
Usher for at least 1 year before applying to be an Ambassador. Teens in this
program usher at our Premier Health Broadway in Dayton performances and may
have additional volunteer opportunities throughout the season. When do teens usher? For Broadway Series shows, teens can select to usher Friday evening (6:15-11 p.m.) or Saturday matinee (12:15-5 p.m.) for
each show. Volunteer opportunities are
available from October 2020-May 2021. Do returning members
have to reapply each year? Yes,
returning members need to complete a new application each year to be
considered for the program. |

Is there a fee to participate? Yes. If you are accepted into the 2020-2021 Teen Usher & Ambassador program, there will be a $30 participation fee that applies to the required uniform. Financial aid may be available if needed. Please reach out to Leah Thomas with any financial concerns. No fee will be required if you or your student is not accepted into the program. How do I apply?
Applications for the 2020-2021 Teen Usher & Ambassador program are available on our website until July 3, 2020. All applications will be reviewed by a member of our Education & Engagement Department and after a review of applications, an invitation to attend an interview via phone or in-person may be extended. Please note: Due to the size of the applicant pool and the limited number of slots available, it is possible that not all applicants will receive an interview. Also, due to the size of the applicant pool and the limited number of slots available, it is possible not all interviewees will be accepted into the program. Are there opportunities for high school graduates? Teens ages 18 and older and no longer in high school can apply to our adult volunteer program.
