HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARINES!

Happy Birthday, Marines!

On the 245th birthday of the Marine Corps, we wish every Marine a hearty Happy Birthday!??

It is tradition in the Corps to mark the birthday with a Birthday Cake-Cutting Ceremony.?? With the pandemic keeping us apart this year, the Museum is celebrating with a VIRTUAL ceremony.? Please click on the video above to view!

This year our oldest Marine present is Museum docent, George Schaudel, who fought at the Chosin Reservoir.? Schaudel enlisted in the Marine Corps on 4 February 1948. ? Our youngest Marine present is LCpl Hunter Terrell.? Terrell enlisted on 2 February 2019 and is currently serving with Education Command. While it''s a coincidence that these two Marines joined the Corps almost exactly 71 years apart, the brotherhood and traditions they share are not.? That?is a bond forged through determination, dedication and duty.
