Jacob,
It has been nearly 3 months since the COVID-19 pandemic upended our lives, and during that time the number of Americans who are facing hunger has continued to increase, week after week. From the beginning, Move For Hunger has been singularly focused on helping our nation''s food banks meet the unprecedented demand for assistance. With support from our network of moving companies, multi-family housing providers, and industry partners, we have provided more than 654,000 meals to people who are facing hunger during this crisis.
More than 1,000 moving companies now support our mission to reduce food waste & fight hunger, and their commitment has not wavered during the pandemic. Companies like J. Barber Moving & Storage, a National Van Lines agent from Fredericksburg, VA, are organizing safe, socially-distant food drives to help provide meals to their neighbors in need. Longtime members of our network like Rainbow Movers, a North American Van Lines agent in Franklin, MA, have continued to support their local food pantry by asking their customers to donate their food when they move. We have also received support from new members, like Unique Moving & Storage in Oxnard, CA, who have delivered nearly 20,000 lbs. of produce to support Food Share of Ventura County.
Despite all of the social disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, our growing network of Multi-Family apartment communities have still been rescuing food from their residents during the move-out process. For example, Crest on Providence, a Greystar community in Charlotte, NC, recently donated 10 bags of non-perishables, which was delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina by Gentle Giant Moving Company. Since March, our Multi-Family Program has provided more than 4,100 meals to families, children, seniors, and vulnerable communities across the U.S.
Meanwhile, our partners in the relocation industry and beyond have continued to find strategic ways to collaborate and support our relief efforts. Most recently, our new allies from Commercial Carpet Logistics volunteered to pick up 119,000 lbs. of product from a Kraft Heinz warehouse in Hurlock, MD and delivered it to the SHARE Food Program.

"It was such a great experience. If I can turn my efforts to giving back, I suddenly feel encouraged, I feel renewed," said Commercial Carpets Logistics''s Executive Vice President, Cassie Sealing. "I needed the opportunity to give back, to help Move For Hunger, and it is inspiring to me in our own business."

Last, but certainly not least, are the individual supporters like you, Jacob. Move For Hunger relies on your generosity to coordinate food rescues, organize food drives, and expand our network. The last 3 months have been difficult, but thanks to you we have been able to help provide hundreds of thousands of meals to families who are struggling to put food on the table. Still, there is much more work to be done in the weeks ahead.
Can you please make a donation of $25 today to help support our COVID-19 relief efforts? Hunger is on the rise all across the country, but your gift today will help Move For Hunger provide 63 meals to those in need.
Want to support Move For Hunger over the long haul? Then please consider becoming a monthly donor. For just $10/month - that''s only $0.33/day - you can provide 25 meals to people who are facing hunger.
Thank you for the everything you have done for Move For Hunger in the past. We are facing, potentially, the greatest hunger crisis of our lifetime, and we hope can count on your continued support.
Sincerely,
The Move For Hunger Team
