Season''s Greetings from Visit Winston-Salem!
As we look to the holiday season that certainly looks so different from so many before it, we share our best wishes and gratitude to each of you who has made Winston-Salem a part of your travel memories.

Looking forward to the promise of the holiday season and the new year, we invite you to read about how Winston-Salem continues to celebrate holiday love at our historic homes steeped in nostalgia, our beloved Moravian culinary traditions, our award-winning Yadkin Valley wines, and of course, our local makers and innovators who create awe-inspiring gifts that promise to brighten your loved ones on your holiday shopping list.

No matter if your home is three or 300 miles away, Winston-Salem promises to be your "home away from home for the holidays."
MEET MR. AND MRS. CLAUS OF THE MORAVIAN COOKIE
One of Winston-Salem''s favorite holiday treats is the world-famous Moravian cookie. You could call us biased since we bake more than a million pounds of this cookie dough every year, or you can just take it from the Oprah Winfrey herself, who named Mrs. Hanes'' Moravian Cookies as one of her holiday favorites. These are not just any Moravian cookie...we''re talking about the kind that''s hand-rolled, hand-cut, and hand packaged by what some people call "artists in aprons," but we''re not so sure that they aren''t really Santa''s elves!

MEET THE HANES FAMILY
WARM UP YOUR HOLIDAY WITH OLD WORLD CHARM IN WINSTON-SALEM

When you spend your holiday season in Winston-Salem, you''re guaranteed to step back in time to Christmases past. Our historic homes beckon the comfort of nostalgia as the sounds of Yuletide carols fill the air.

Winston-Salem invites you to discover centuries-old traditions this holiday season. From an 1800 folly considered to be the "strangest home in America," to the 1932 Graylyn Estate (and second largest private home in North Carolina), winter holidays here are filled with grandeur, style, and historic charm.
FEEL THE MAGIC
TOAST TO 2021 WITH THESE YADKIN VALLEY SPARKLING WINES

As we bid adieu to 2020, we heartedly raise a glass to warmly usher in the New Year! We''ve rounded up the perfect sparkling wines to toast to a new year of possibilities, hope, laughter, and love.

As gateway to the Yadkin Valley wine region, Winston-Salem, and some of our expert winemakers, spotlight a few of our favorite locally produced sparkling wines.

With more than 45 wineries throughout our nearby wine region, we think there''s no better way to enjoy them than during your holiday getaway here. Cheers!

TANGLEWOOD PARK
FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

With more than a million twinkling lights aglow, Tanglewood Park’s rolling countryside transforms each holiday season into a shimmering Winter Wonderland.

Entering its 29th season, the Festival of Lights at Tanglewood Park is open nightly from 6-11 p.m. through Jan. 1, 2021.

A few tips for this drive-through light extravaganza: arrive early (weeknights are best) and pack some hot cocoa and favorite holiday snack for the car ride through this festive holiday tradition which can average a couple of hours.

PAUL J. CIENER BOTANICAL GARDENS
HOLIDAY TULIP LIGHT DISPLAY

Even in the height of winter, the gardens at Paul J. Ciener Botanical Gardens (PJCBG) are in full bloom.

Already beloved for their spring display of 20,000 tulip bulbs - one of the largest in the region - PJCBG lights up with an equally stunning display of lit tulips during the holiday season.

But wait! A tulip display in winter!?? Well, each bloom is actually handcrafted from recycled plastic bottles, each one radiating holiday cheer. Don your jacket and mittens and enjoy a holiday stroll through the dazzling wisteria lights and illuminated trees along the patio terrace.
