Membership Emails
Below is a sample of the emails you can expect to receive when signed up to washingtonnature.
It''s been a tough year for Washington and for communities around the world. But we can get on a path to a brighter, healthier, more just and sustainable future. As members of the Washington Climate Alliance, we''re supporting a platform of policies that start us on that path - will you join us?
The Resilient Future platform isn''t just about climate. It''s about people. And it recognizes that meaningful solutions to the climate crisis will also address other crises we''re facing: a profoundly inequitable economy, a pandemic, widespread wildfires and a long-overdue reckoning with American racism.
Drawing from the broad diversity of its membership, the Climate Alliance coalition today is sharing the five key principles behind our vision for a Resilient Future - one that meets these multiple, interrelated challenges with the courage and boldness this moment demands.
The Resilient Future platform calls upon on our elected officials to enact policies based on five principles:
People-focused solutions: Support communities hit hardest by crisis with direct investments.
Equitable, participatory decision-making: Engage those who are most impacted by these crises in decision-making processes.
Progressive revenue sources that drive down pollution: Corporations, large polluters and the very wealthy must contribute their fair share.
Climate-resilient investments: Build a cleaner, stronger economy to support both health and prosperity.
Clean and just approaches: Reduce pollution, create good jobs and address structural inequalities.
Join us in re-imagining the future by urging your legislators to support the Resilient Future platform. Here''s how.
The coalition will announce specific policy proposals in November, but you can act today to support a Resilient Future. Visit our blog and sign the letter to state legislators asking them to act boldly to help create a healthier, more just and sustainable future for all Washingtonians.

Dear John,
Washington cannot wait to act. In our region's smoke-filled skies, we''ve see one more manifestation of the climate crisis and its burden on the communities around us. Hi
John,
Thanks for signing up!
Welcome to The Nature Conservancy in Washington's advocacy community. We truly appreciate your willingness to speak up for nature. Thank you for joining us.
You'll receive occasional email updates and calls to action about our most important policy priorities at the local, state and federal levels. (Expect more action each year from January to early spring, while the state Legislature is in session.)
The Nature Conservancy uses a practical, science-based, nonpartisan approach to show policymakers across the political spectrum how nature can provide effective solutions to major challenges like climate change. To learn about our current policy priorities in Washington state, explore our blog, Twitter feed and Facebook page.
One thing you can do right now is make sure you know who your legislators are and how to contact them. Use this handy map to find out - note you can toggle between legislative (state) and Congressional (federal) districts.
Once you know who represents you, get to know them - and let them get to know you! Send a quick email to their offices to introduce yourself as a constituent, or visit their official web pages to see if there's an upcoming town hall or "constituent coffee" in your district where you might meet in person. If you're not sure what to say, simply begin by thanking them for representing you - it's a good way to start things off on a positive note.
