If you do a quick search you'll be able to see the insane amount of HubSpot reviews there are online. This is probably because over 200,000 websites use HubSpot (and that number keeps climbing). Here's how HubSpot was able to use word of mouth to drive inbound marketing.

Hey all!

It's been awhile since we made a public email update as we've been laser focused on all the improvements we are doing here at Referral Rock.

Focus has been a big theme for us this year along with doubling down on what's working. Looking back, our team and product has grown so much and we have you all to thank for the continued support as customers and followers. 

Now on to the big product update...

Member Portal 2.0 is now public!
It gives us great pleasure to announce that Member Portal 2.0 is finally public. We have been working hard over the last six months to design a new member portal that is clean, modern, mobile responsive, and easy to maintain.

The updates have been a long time coming as we took many lessons learned to make this next version of the member portal stand-out in all the right ways. The new portal streamlines the registration, sharing, and overall experience for your members as well as sets a foundation for much more to come.

We've also added some key branding elements such as custom colors and the coveted favicon. The ability for you to customize any text is something we are especially proud of. Overall our portal editor allows you to makes editing and customizing your portal so much easier.

For all you member portal classic users you don't have to switch. We will continue to support the older version, but new features will likely not end up there. Talk to your customer success manager if you have any questions.

What happened to the old "Word of Mouth Uncovered" newsletter?
Over the past year, we introduced our "Word of Mouth Uncovered" story based newsletter. However, we stopped sending it a few months ago so we could focus on what works for our audience (we may relaunch it in 2020, but at this point we're not 100% sure). If you don't want to be a part of these infrequent updates, you are more than welcome to unsubscribe.

Our goal is to only send you important updates and not overload your inbox with fluf.  That said, we have more updates planned for the member experience and have some really innovative features coming over the next couple of months.

Recurring Rewards! 

This highly requested feature will allow our customers the flexibility to send their members recurring reward payments as their referrals continue to reach milestones (such as paying their monthly invoice or making a repeat purchase). Learn more in the recurring rewards FAQ

We are currently looking for beta users to try out our new recurring rewards option! If you are interested in offering a recurring reward structure for your members, please fill out this short form and we will be in touch!

• The option to use this share block allows your members to directly add pending referrals into your program
• This is a great option for our customers running affiliate and partner referral programs 
• Learn more about Direct Add share block on our KB

With the addition of our new direct add share block, we have also introduced a few new fraud rules to help further protect your program from spam and duplicate referrals.

You can now...

• Protect against duplicate phone numbers 
• Limit the amount of direct add referrals a member can make in a day or month
• View your account's fraud detection here

Many of our customers have been heavily affected by the changes in the world. While Referral Rock has also seen an impact to our business, we realize we are on the luckier side and want to do what we can to help.

We''ve been working closely with existing customers in need to provide some financial relief (if you are one please reach out). Some customers have also seen a boost of activity in their referral programs to help with their advocacy efforts but they are still under financial stress.

For those customers, we are offering a discount on adding more members to accounts. If that''s you please use the code ADVOCACY for 50% savings. If you have any trouble using the code, reach out and we can apply the discount manually.

Recent updates to our product have been centered around helping you design your program faster as well as giving your team more control over your member registration process. 

The newest version of our Referral Page builder made leaps and bounds on it''s ease of use. We also added some beautiful new form templates to help you get your referral page started. Check out the video tutorial to see the builder in action.

As far as registration goes, you may now add custom fields to your program''s registration page. This will allow you to collect more information on your members when they register, like phone number or country of residence. Plus, you can now limit member registration to those approved by your team.

One of the big themes for us this year is product polish and more automation. We are taking more time to make improvements to the overall user experience. Just like we developed Member Portal 2.0 (which was made public last month), we are working hard to make many of our experiences better.

The big one in automation this month is "Scheduled Payouts". The feature allows you to automatically issue rewards on your own schedule based on the payout type. Honestly this has been on the dev board for a long time but the feature is finally here.




Also on the automation front, we''ve added some additional improvements to our CRM integrations (HubSpot and Salesforce)

• New "Packageless" Salesforce integration
• Custom field mappings for syncing referrals
• Smarter duplication logic for syncing referrals

Update to our Privacy Policy

With the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, we've updated our Privacy Policy to reflect new changes to the Privacy Shield requirements. As of now, the changes are very minor and only require that the United Kingdom be listed as a country under the Privacy Shield. We've included the change in bold below for your convenience.

Referral Rock complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union member countries and the United Kingdom to the United States pursuant to Privacy Shield.  

We will continue to monitor the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union and make updates as needed.

Over the past few months we''ve been spending a lot of time reflecting on our product. Starting from our initial product thesis, where we screwed up, and what we got right. It''s a continuous learning process.

We believe we are barely out of Act 1 and there are plenty of big improvements to be made to the Referral Rock product and customer experience. We can take our past, listen to our customers, look at the data, and make bets on the future.

Gather better insights with our new dashboard

Last month, we debuted our new in-product dashboard which gives your team access to even more valuable insights such as, what source members are coming from and how often they are sharing. See how your referral program is impacting your organization''s overall brand with our new 'brand visits' statistic. 

Plus, stay up to date with actionable management items, such as low gift card balance, pending referrals or referrals impacted by fraud. 

We want your feedback! 
Whenever we debut a new feature, we want to hear from you, our users. This is why we have recently created a more streamlined process for submitting product feedback and technical issues. If you have any feedback about the new dashboard, or any other area of our product, please send us a quick note! 

And speaking of feedback, our team is actively developing a solution for our users to send recurring rewards directly from our product. If your team is running an affiliate or partner program, and recurring rewards are part of the reward structure, please take a few minutes to fill out this short survey.
