Thank you for your request for 100 red ribbons for your World AIDS Day fundraising for NAT (National AIDS Trust). We have received your request and will send these out in the post as soon as possible.

We send these ribbons out at our own cost, which means we can only send them to people who are fundraising for NAT, and who pledge to raise a minimum of �15. We�re sure you�ll raise more though! - and NAT�s fundraising team are here to help every step of the way.

A member of the team will be in touch soon to offer additional support and materials and find out about your fundraising plans.

I’m getting in touch about NAT’s Big Quiz on April 23^rd.

The Big Quiz is an annual national fundraising campaign, this year in April. We’re asking people, pubs and workplaces all over the country to host their very own Big Quiz on (or around!) April 23^rd.

The idea is that everyone does the same quiz, on the same night, at the same time – making it genuinely a really BIG nationwide quiz!

I want to ask if you’ll also support us this summer and organise your very own Big Quiz?

The Quiz can be scaled up or down, depending on your available time and setting. You can get colleagues or friends together for a few quiz rounds at lunch or at the pub. Or, if you’re feeling really enthused, you can organise a fully-fledged pub quiz event!

We provide you with everything that you need to do the Big Quiz. Questions, answer sheets, posters, balloons and red ribbons – plus lots of support and encouragement from our Fundraising team.

Employment: We know that many people are concerned about employment at this time. Alongside an employment lawyer, we have moved swiftly to understand and share your rights relating to HIV and COVID-19. This information is available on our website. We've also updated our online resource Looped in which can be used to share information about HIV and COVID-19 with your employer. Please do send these links to anyone you think might find them useful.?

Your health: We are continually reviewing government guidance, helping to coordinate clear and consistent information, and sharing these so that everyone can keep informed.?

Discrimination: We are urgently challenging new discrimination in relation to COVID-19. We know that some people living with HIV are experiencing a lack of support in detention settings and some are being denied requests to self-isolate at work.?

?

Rights: We're continuing to fight for the rights of people living with HIV and meeting the new challenges as they arise, including fighting for continued access to testing and medication, and much further beyond.?

?

We urgently need your help today. These are uncertain times and it will only be with your help that we can continue to support people living with HIV and fight for your rights.?

Thanks so much for supporting National AIDS Trust for World AIDS Day in the past. We know that things are different this year, and we totally understand that fundraising hasn’t been possible for everyone.

As with many other charities, this has been a very difficult year with massively increased demand for our work at the same time as a huge drop in funding. World AIDS Day 2020 - Rock the Ribbon

There''s only two weeks until World AIDS Day and I''m writing to ask if you can support us again?

This year has been a tough year for fundraising and our virtual event resources can be used for World AIDS Day or later in the year. There''s never a bad time to raise HIV awareness and support the charities you care about!

If you want our virtual quiz, virtual escape or virtual games night packs, you can order them here or read on to find out more.

How can you support us?

Our ready-made virtual events packs have everything you need to help you run successful virtual fundraising events. Hosting a workplace Christmas party or getting your family and friends together virtually for the holiday season?

Have a look at our virtual events pack to get an idea of what hosting a virtual event looks like. You can choose between our Big World AIDS Day Quiz, including our HIV round read by Stephen Fry! Our Big Games of Oz, a Wizard of Oz themed virtual games night, and our Big World AIDS Day Escape, which will get your attendees involved in a spy chase around the world, following Agent Red's red ribbon clues to try and pass their spy assessment and become a spymaster!

Do you want to set yourself the challenge to take on the Royal Parks Half Marathon?and help us end HIV stigma sooner. We've got a limited number of charity places available and we'd love you to join the team!

Taking part in this event is a great opportunity to achieve personal goals as well as raising money to fight for equality. The public ballot for this?hugely popular run is now closed so if you missed out, this is your chance to still land a spot!

Running on closed roads through central London and four royal parks make this a really exciting and beautiful?run!

I''m just following up on my previous email asking if you''re planning to be a World AIDS Day fundraiser again? We have just launched our campaign for World AIDS Day 2020 and I''m thrilled to share it with you. You may have noticed our sleek new branding too!

We know many people are still mostly staying at home, and unable to socialise with more than 5 other people, so World AIDS Day fundraising is a great way to connect people for a cause that they care about. We''ve got ready-made virtual events packs for you to host fun and unique events for World AIDS Day. All you need to do is host them!

World AIDS Day 2020

This is an exciting time to take part in World AIDS Day, with a real opportunity to end new HIV transmissions in the UK by 2030. As you know from working with us last year, educating people on HIV is vital to end new transmissions. There are still on average 4,480 new diagnoses each year. Your incredible commitment towards raising HIV awareness can be a vital step towards stopping HIV by 2030.

This year we''re asking people to 'Rock the Ribbon' virtually or physically using our red ribbons where it''s possible and safe to do so.

Companies, individuals and their friends and family, schools, and community groups will again be standing in solidarity with people living with HIV and remembering the more than 35 million people worldwide who have died from AIDS-related illnesses.

We know awareness-raising and fundraising is going to be very different this year. Don't worry, we''ve got some fun, easy fundraising ideas for you all to come together virtually!

We have created a virtual events pack to help you easily try this new, exciting style of fundraising. The pack tells you more about our ready-made virtual event options:

We are very excited to announce that we have just launched our brand new fundraising campaign and the last event in our Big Online series for the year:

The Big Online Games of Oz

We hope that you can join National AIDS Trust for The Big Online Games of Oz, an immersive themed games night taking you to the Land of Oz!

The Big Online Games of Oz Event

The Big Online Games of Oz is an immersive games night giving your team the chance to play some classic games, and some new and unique ones, whilst meeting your favourite characters from the iconic The Wizard of Oz.

Each game will be loosely based on The Wizard of Oz and you will always have a choice in your team which games you want to spend your time playing. You don't have to be a huge The Wizard of Oz fan to enjoy this immersive evening and we will refresh your memories of the story before we start.

Join us on Zoom on Wednesday 22nd July at 6:45pm for The Big Online Games of Oz, uniting people nationwide to fundraise for National AIDS Trust - the UK's HIV policy charity. All profits from your ticket will directly fund our vital work shaping attitudes, challenging injustice and changing lives.

We recommend team sizes of 4-6 Zoom connections/tickets. You will complete all of your games in a Zoom breakout room with your team so you can be together in person (following current guidelines) or from many different households. You can buy tickets in a team, so make sure that you have a team name before buying tickets! Find the tickets here.

After our immersive games night, you can join us for our After-Party, watching The Wizard of Oz using the Netflix Party chrome extension, which enables us to all chat and enjoy the film together.

You will receive instructions about how to join The Big Online Games of Oz and the After-Party one week before the event.

Just over six months ago, thousands of you came together - in offices, shops, banks, bars, classrooms and universities - to 'Rock the Ribbon' and show your support of people living with HIV. Thanks to you,?World AIDS Day 2019 was our most successful in recent years.?

?

I wanted to update you on what we've achieved in the past six months. And what a six months it's been! Not only have we continued our usual work, but your support has meant that we were able to move swiftly as COVID-19 impacted people living with HIV.?

?

We've achieved so much, but lots still needs to be done. COVID-19 continues to have a serious impact; we urgently need to ensure fair and equitable access to PrEP; stigma and discrimination are still rife; and much more.

?

On 1 December 2020, we will once again be asking everyone to 'Rock the Ribbon' and show their support. It's an incredible time for increasing knowledge,?for remembrance, and?for breaking down stigma around HIV. We are so grateful for the support you've given so far, and I hope you will take part again.

What we've achieved with your support

Your fundraising over World AIDS Day has been vital in allowing us to move swiftly to support people during COVID-19. Here are just a few of the things that we have been doing to support people living with HIV over the past 6 months.?

Employment rights in COVID-19

?

We know that many people are concerned about employment at this time. Alongside an employment lawyer, we moved swiftly to understand and share your rights relating to HIV and COVID-19. This information is available on our?website.?

Fighting cases of discrimination

?

We are responding to continually higher than usual demand for support in cases of discrimination, often in the workplace.?

?

This includes a carer on a zero hours contract who was told she'd be sent home with no pay if she acquired COVID-19 symptoms, and another employee who was told by his employer that he must come into work despite government and clinical advice advising against this.?

?

"I feel like I'm not alone. I can contact NAT for advice, and there is someone who can help me. Living with HIV can be quite isolating so I'm glad that I know now there is someone I can turn to for help." - Stacey*, London

We are responding to these cases and more, supporting people, and working to change the policies and practices that lead to this discrimination.

HIV COVID-19 Network

?

We've been working closely with other organisations in the sector to share intelligence, information and coordinate our response. This means that, through this new network, we all know the impact of COVID-19 on people living with HIV and can work together to support our community.?It has been an incredible example of how strong we can be together.?

NAT has also been producing bi-weekly information briefings, which outline some of the key issues recognised by the network and some of the support that the sector is working hard to provide.?You can read these briefings on our website?here.?

I hope that you, your colleagues and your loved ones are keeping well at this difficult time.?

At National AIDS Trust, we're doing everything we can to continue our work to end HIV transmissions and tackle the stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV.?
?
As our fundraising events are cancelled nationwide we face unprecedented challenges in raising the money we need to continue our work to end HIV, and to fight for the rights of people living with HIV.
?
We sent you out some materials to fundraise with for World AIDS Day last December, and haven't received your donations as yet. As we're now heading into a difficult period, I'm asking if you do have donations to pay in, if you could please transfer this money to us, this will be a huge help.
?
This can be done online here, or by BACS transfer. I've attached our bank details and information on other methods of payment. Let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything.?

I know this will be a challenging time for you and your colleagues at the moment. We're working on ideas to stay engaged with our supporters virtually, so that we can all support each other.
