Wrapping up 2020
This year has been filled with challenges and constant change. But with adversity comes innovation; the Alliance and its members adapted quickly and continued to work on development, adoption and promotion of Alliance technologies while leading the industry to build an interoperable future for the Internet of Things.
As 2020 comes to an end we reflect on some moments for the Alliance and our members this year. This year we:
Conducted three successful member meetings, one in Austin, Texas and two virtual meetings with global participation from around the globe
Welcomed four new companies to the Board of Directors including Assa Abloy, Resideo, STMicroelectronics, and Tuya
Established a new FREE Associate membership tier, so new companies can easily and affordably implement Certified Products from Alliance Participant an Promoter companies
Launched the European Interest Group to facilitate conversations and collaboration among European based members to strengthen Zigbee Alliance standards globally
Expanded partner engagements and membership, with 75+ new Alliance members and enhanced collaboration with DALI through the newly formed IP-BLiS initiative
Increased momentum around Project Connected Home over IP development through the addition of new members, Github additions, and the creation and announcement of the Commercial Strategy market team
With everything that 2020 brought us we can be proud of our accomplishments. In the New Year, the Alliance is excited to continue ground breaking initiatives; if you are interested in learning more please visit our website, or join the movement!
